Product quality gone down

UPDATE: I've ordered several pairs of these and they don't accidentally come loose. All of them. Thought I might have gotten a bad pair so I ordered another, same one. As stated in my original review I've been using them for years and never had any problems and then suddenly I had 8 of them that were bad. I've been using them for electronics projects for a number of years and they work great and as expected. To program them you need to use a voltage divider circuit (google it online). The range

NEGATIVE reviews on this product will be removed

I have clearly and politely explained why I (an experienced Bluetooth user and user of these products) have critical issues with this particular product. Both times these reviews have been REMOVED by Revain. I'm sorry, but if the AT commands work, except for some critical ones like AT+ROLE (to set Central-Peripheral (Master-Slave)), it's not compatible with the HM-10. Revane is in a bind because they sure don't know who to trust. But whatever. This will probably be the last time I try to warn…

  • Delivery was very fast

3.3 volts? Why? Best in Network Adapter

Fair warning: This adapter is not designed for immediate use with your Arduino. First, the logic circuit runs on 3.3 volts, so you need to use a 3.3 volt logic converter (which is ironic since it draws 5 volts). You'll also need to re-solder pin 34 (which is under protective heat shrink tubing) to regularly get into the setup menu (you don't need to do this if you're using a button, but most of my programs require switching between boards) . If you are not using the original 3.3V voltage, we…

It is a challenge! - Network adapter

Update! I bought two of these to wirelessly connect two Arduinos and they work for me. Both AT-09 Bluetooth modules work fine in slave mode, but it took me a while to set up one of them as a master. It's difficult because I didn't find any documentation for this particular module and the AT commands are different from what I found online. It's like a jigsaw puzzle where you have to guess what the pieces are made of - really fun! Magic AT commands: AT+Role11 to switch to master, AT+INQ? to find…

  • Inspires confidence

  • Expensive insurance

Thank you DavidS! You steered me in the right direction!

**Updated 4/26/2021** Corrected by David S. So make sure you have Newline and Carriage Return selected in your serial IDE console in the lower right corner. out, but as David S. says, there is little to no documentation. By the way, David, you saved my skin; I was ready to be angry when I realized what was going on. This is a strange carriage return/ASCII encoding error. The device is difficult to understand, but slow. David, you are somewhat right. Just use a space after /any character and AT…

I bought it thinking it was HM-10, got the name wrong

1. This is NOT HM-10.2. It absolutely will not pair with a phone without using dedicated apps that connect to BLE devices. without mating. In other words, if I may say so. I found a way to get AT commands, for some reason I only had to do it the very first time. Power on the Arduino with the AT09 attached after flashing a simple serial code (I'll upload a screenshot if you need it). Then, with the Arduino powered on, disconnect and then reconnect the rx and tx pins on the module. It did for me.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Just a warning, this is a HM-10 clone so some of the information you will find online about the HM-10 will be slightly different. Also let me save you the headache of figuring out AT commands with this module, don't use "?" characters when typing AT commands. That's all. Otherwise, you'll get an error message if you try to type something like "AT+ROLE?". I've attached an image of the available AT commands that the module writes when you type "AT+HELP".

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Long time
