4-in-1 Radio Control Multi-Protocol Module Update

I need to update the firmware on Hobby Porter - JP4-IN-1 (JP4IN1) and iRangeX multi-protocol modules. I have an old Windows 7 computer in my workshop that recognizes this board without any problems. I found a video on the net how to connect it and showed the firmware program. Download software and new firmware. I flashed both modules on the first try with no problems.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Do Not Buy: Computer Cable Adapter

Like others, I have used this to program multiple devices through the serial port. A year ago, when I last used it, it worked perfectly, but the hardware was not recognized by several Windows or Linux computers. I spent a lot of time thinking it was a software/driver issue, but ultimately decided the hardware had failed. It seems to be a common theme for them. I will look for another one based on a real FTDI chip and not a fake that fails after very light use.

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Minor Issues

Works on computer accessories and peripherals

It worked great! My Lubuntu 18.10 didn't need to install a driver and immediately connected to my FriendlyElec ZeroPi. The nice thing is that it supports both 3V and 5V options. Mine also came with a handy shrink wrap around the board which provided basic protection and structural support. I haven't found any of the weak connectors that others are reporting, so I'm not sure if their quality has improved recently. I chose this because it was the cheapest option with Revain 1 day shipping but you

years. It still works great with the Adruino Mini Pro clone, for example. But when I connected it to the ESP32 CAM board it didn't happen. I've tried various things including powering the ESP32 with a desktop power supply but still can't connect. This board worked great the first time. I just connected it to the ESP32 CAM with 5V, Gnd, Tx and Rx on Rx and Tx respectively and added a flash mode jumper between IO0 and Gnd. Plug it in and tell VSCode/Platformio to load it. Bingo. As others have…

Works but poor quality

Bought to fix a hard drive firmware bug (Seagate Bug 7200.11 BSY) and although after downloading and installing Silicon Labs CP210X drivers found it working I didn't do it particularly well. The connector pins are loose and I had to bend the board up at a fairly sharp angle after plugging it in for it to see the pin and OS. So it works, but some quality assurance may be needed in the production process. You can melt the solder on the connector and see what happens later. So far it has done what
