Inconsistent, fragile

Took me a lot of time trying to use them. I started analog with the DHT11, it was easy, the sensor has always worked, has been working in my room for half a year now. I tried this to improve accuracy (theoretically). Lots of bad readings, lots of 5 degree swings between controller loads, I touch it, it works, I put it down and vice versa. It took me 2 hours to realize my problem was that these sensors are junk in a landfill.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Only available in black

Works perfectly! suitable for accessories

This is not really a project, but a plug and play device. I use it to measure and log the temperature and humidity in my office. Can anyone tell why to do this? A few thoughts come to mind. First, it gives you some basic Raspberry PI experience aside from flashing the lights. The information gathered led me to the conclusion that outside air was going straight into the intake of my HVAC fan. This led to overwork of the compressor and an increase in humidity in the room. So I think it's a good…

Easy install with Raspberry Pi 2 and 3

I bought a pair of these. They went to the Raspberry Pi 3 with Buster and the older Raspberry Pi 2 with Wheezy. This DHT22 comes with a resistor already installed, so you only need 3 pins: VCC, ground, and data. The setup for Buster is quite simple. Just make sure you have python3 installed and pip3 installs the Adafruit library. For Wheezy, installing pip3 is a chore, skip it and instead just clone the Adafruit library and use their standard Python sample code to make it work. Both sensors…

Find another seller

Not as shown. The block wasn't soldered - although that was the least of my problems. The sensor itself and the protective white frame were not included in my order. The bag was previously opened and accidentally resealed. EDIT: Now after returning my order and posting this negative review I keep getting spam from them asking them to reconsider which makes my overall experience with them even worse and makes me wonder if they have received generally positive reviews from others due to the abuse

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Trade-in

Sensor stopped responding after about a day

I received this sensor to use in a whole house humidifier control project. So I planned it to run almost continuously all winter. The problem is that it becomes unresponsive after about a day or so. The Arduino I connected it to can no longer receive data from it until I unplug the Arduino and reapply power. Therefore, this sensor is almost useless for an application where you need to monitor temperature or humidity in the long term. I've seen posts online of other people having similar issues,

  • GOLS certified

The correct supply voltage is crucial.

I have bought two of these sets, they are fairly consistent in the stated values. And they are comparable to DHT22 sold by others. Which is good because I use several of these throughout my house. And the readings are consistent across individual sensors, and the reported values are reasonably consistent too. The supply voltage is crucial for these sensors, regardless of the manufacturer. The part (DHT22/AM2302 without circuit board) is designed for 3.2 or 3.3 to 5 volts. If you're using one…

Misbehaviour but good results 🙆‍♂🙆‍ shal

The description calls it DHT11 but the name calls it 22 but it's actually ASAIR AM3202 . The seller's PCB pictures show a 10kΩ SMD resistor, but the schematic shows a 4.7kΩ resistor. so what is it? The SMD lottery gave me 4.7 000. I won? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ Does it really matter? Yes, the specs are important as the buyer's application is very specific to their needs and the resistor deflection may require additional resistance depending on the microprocessor and the miles of sensor cables someone is

  • Nice to use
