If you are looking for a screw that will really stick to a thread at close range. This is my favorite screw for connecting two boards. The only screw better suited for attaching two different boards are pan head screws, as the thread on the screw only rises about an inch and a half and only grips one board. But these screws are not in 5/16! I ran these Hillman Group heads through a treated jaw that was over half an inch deep! And that's probably the best deal you can find even in big stores.
