Hitachi 🔋 R18DSALP4 Battery-Powered Cordless Cleaner Review

I cannot understand the positive reviews. I bought it thinking it would be powerful because it uses a Hitachi battery and also because we have a Hitachi drill. I put it near the fireplace to suck up the ash and everything else - bits of bark, wood shavings, etc. It collects a small amount of dirt and needs to be emptied immediately. It's a little better than nothing, but a lot worse than a brush and dustpan. Save your money!

We got it to help with stairs but we use it for touch-ups everywhere. It's light and agile, but performs better than expected. We get good life from a battery and when it runs out it's quickly and easily replaced with a charged battery. Emptying the container is also easy and uncomplicated. The vacuum cleaner is relatively quiet and we are very happy with this purchase. This is the natural choice when using a Hitachi/Metabo 18V cordless tool system.

I have hard floors and a tray and needed something I can quickly grab and pick up caterpillar residue several times a day. The Swiffer vacuum was not powerful enough and could throw dirt back onto the floor. The thing is a dream! So easy to use, a little heavy for me but no problem. The suction power is great and I like that the battery is separate so you don't have to replace the whole thing when it wears out. Also, I have a Hitachi drill that uses the same battery! I buy cordless sweepers about every 2 years because they just break. I hope this guy lasts longer. I just got this but am amazed at how much it absorbs - even on carpet! My husband used Dewalt tools so I bought a different brand of battery and it works great! 3 am i believe. The only bad thing is that you have to hold down the trigger to use it. Bought because I needed a small vacuum that I could grab quickly and I had several Hitachi power tools with extra batteries. It worked really well right out of the box - strong suction, easy to maneuver and attach or remove the extension, and the floor nozzle even allowed me to use it for big messes. It has very good suction power and excellent air filtration so no dust is thrown out. I use it on all hard surfaces and it does the job perfectly. At around 3 pounds, I can do all the work with very little fatigue. I use a 3Ah battery and the battery has even more free time to work. When I first unpacked it I was a bit disappointed. However, after taking some time to inspect the product, I was impressed with the build quality and plastic materials used. The suction power is very good. The device is very light with a 1.5 Ah battery. It is easy to manoeuvre. And the battery life is surprisingly good, even with the 1.5Ah battery. Update: I would gladly pay more for an updated version of MetaboHPT! I shaved off the edges of the plastic to make room for a newer 36v multi volt battery and this thing turned out to be a beast! Along with the turquoise cyclone nozzle (requires some tape to adjust fit) I prefer this cleaner at my shop to the 6 gallon outlet with the orange muffler I have in my closet.
