SIMPLE AND CONVENIENT: Test, measure and verify

This TDS tester is easy to use and provides useful readings. While I cannot verify the accuracy of any particular reading, I believe it is reliable because I have tested different types of drinking water (tap water, spring water, flavored water with known mineral additives) and comparative readings are very useful. Readings appear to be affected by changes in water temperature. Auto power off extends battery life.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Legacy model

Two questions: conductivity meters and accessories

(1) How do I know if this device is accurate? Presumably measuring total dissolved solids? Without a home appliance to compare your readings against, how would you rate its accuracy and therefore its value? (2) This device is designed to be submerged in water and then read dissolved solids, but experience has shown that it will fail if the device is submerged in water. Why can't a device designed for use in water work when wet?

Pros
  • good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Excellent goods! - Conductivity meters and accessories

When I bought a Zero Water filter and jug last year, I bought a tester that only flashed red when the water wasn't clear. But I needed an accurate reader and couldn't be happier with this one that has a digital readout - both Zero Water Testers. Using a digital meter before I filtered tap water through a Zero Water Filter, the reading showed 207 ppm dissolved solids. When I tested it on my new meter after filtering, it read ZERO. I'm sure I'll save a lot of money if I don't buy bottled water!

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
