🎨 Holbein Acryla Gouache Chinese White (D152) 20ml - Artists' Acrylic Polymer Emulsion Review

I love acrylic gouache. I'm also almost a purist. I don't like the color "Chinese white" at all. It had an odd pastiness and I won't be using it again.

I'm usually a Holbein fan but their Acryla Gouache acrylics are translucent at best. They are nowhere near inferior to their gouache counterparts in opacity. I prefer to use opaque acrylic gouache. This is a big disappointment for me. The only manufacturer that seems to accomplish this simple task is Turner.

I bought it because a friend highly recommended it. But I was disappointed because it was a bit THIN for my use. I had to apply it 2 or 3 times to get the coverage I needed. I've used it as an opaque white in sketchbooks and other mediums. I ended up going with a white posca marker to give it a really good shake and then prime the tip, but it's really opaque. I will find another use for this pipe. For example, mix with regular watercolor paint for a nice opaque pastel.
