The pilot drill's carbide tip failed completely when attempting to drill a hole in a concrete block. It took a long time to drill a four inch hole on both sides of the block to install the dehumidification vent. Do not use a cordless drill.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required

It's not worth saving money

I have a Bosch Commercial hammer drill. I figured I wouldn't need the hammer feature on a crappy tile. Not correct! The pilot bit is useless. Even with the hammer function switched on, it does not drill through ceramic tiles. I gave up and cut a 4" hole with a grinder with a 4" diamond blade.

Cons

Has work on power tool parts and accessories

I used this hole saw to install outdoor light boxes in my garage. I bought two thinking the brick veneer would ruin the cutting sand after a hole or two. The saw held up very well. The only victim was a masonry bat that had drilled a pilot hole. The guide tip can easily be swapped out but is meant to cut both holes I need for my garage lighting project. I would give this saw five stars if the pilot drill held up as well as the hole saw. Overall I am very satisfied with this device.
