I was hoping the blue would be dark blue. Looks like a picture. It's more of a light blue color. And the cable at the female end is one inch for connecting and the male end is one inch long. The blue coating that makes these headlights blue is applied to the outside of the bulb and is water soluble. In other words, if you hang them outside the house as shown on the box, the blue coating will wash off, in my case it only lasted one holiday season. I have attached photos of flashlights I bought last year. I bought 1 skein after Christmas and never hung it up as it was after Christmas.
