Prevents engine heat from entering the carburetor

With a small burned out V6 in a hot rod and slow parades on a hot day, engine heat would eventually enter the carburetor and vaporize the fuel, causing the engine to shut down. With a heat shield under the carburetor, the problem was greatly reduced.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Holley Heat Shield

Ok this was bought for the obvious reason but I don't install them every day, there are no instructions for the buyer to know which gasket goes where there is a thin one and a thick one, don't you think they at least let you know without going through that BS?

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Out of date

If you still have carbohydrates.

I had to help a friend who was having trouble with his boat. When it got warm the engine died and had to wait for it to cool down before it would start again. This solved the problem. The only change was replacing the carburetor bolts with studs for extra height, everything else is there.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Not the best

Gas no longer leaks, perfect

I have a 650 Holly on a 302 stroker that got hot and started leaking gas out of the top of the carburetor. This device prevented gasoline from escaping the carburetor by removing heat from the carburetor, thereby preventing the gas from heating above its boiling point. Looks good for download.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Volume

Good supplement for problem areas.

I bought a Holley heat shield to solve overheat starting problems. I had to tweak the shield a bit to get rid of some of the glitches in the connection. Can't say it fixed my overheating issues, but the screen provides a great way to install the auto kickdown cable mount and cruise control mount.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Exorbitant piggy bank

Holley Carburetor Heat Shield

Holley Carburetor Heat Shield is exactly what I wanted and I got it quickly. The quality is very good and it fits perfectly. I bought this item because my engine gets hotter in hot weather when I'm at a red light. It will work sluggishly and go uphill as if it ran out of gas. This heat shield solved my problem. I was driving very slowly on the freeway during a recent accident (took a mile in about 45 minutes and the temp gauge went up a bit but didn't overheat). The engine was never sluggish…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Vulgarity
