Holmes Humidifier Filter Pack HWF100 UC3 Review

The description says it's a Holmes filter but that's not what you get, it is just a fake. It also shows a picture of the Holmes filters with a blue insert, but that's NOT what you get, it's the normal version that you need to tab. I brought it to them and they basically said I could send it back. False advertising!

Yes, these Holmes filters are expensive and yes, they're hard to find, but don't waste your money on aftermarket filters. I tried the Crucial brand and they were useless - they didn't absorb moisture like the original and didn't hydrate nearly as well as the originals. The originals are expensive, but important.

Does not fit! My Holmes humidifier removes 6 of these filters. I have had this humidifier for 10 years and have had no problems with the filters for the last 3 years. It's garbage. They don't spread and harden in a few days. I thought it might be my water so I started pouring reverse osmosis water into the tanks and it didn't help. Looks like I'll have to buy a new humidifier. I will not buy Holmes or Viking Style again.

This filter was for my Honeywell humidifier. The filters are the same size and fit well. I noticed that the filters don't have a "button" that OEM filters had. They also have different makeup. There is no black plastic strap, it has been replaced with a different type of soft, absorbent material. It looks like these are some of the old filters that were OEM a few years ago. I've ordered a few times, I thought I got bad ones the first time, but no, the second ones were just as bad. The filters turn yellow and the black mesh begins to crumble after a couple of nights. After a month of use, the bottom of these filters turned to mush. The consistency is similar to overcooked spaghetti. It crumbles easily between my fingers. The floor was also covered in mold.
