Only used twice so far but works well. The test tube consists of 2 parts, which makes it easy to store after unscrewing the bottom. Hopefully it won't leak in the future, but only time will tell. The areometer was accurate and easy to read in distilled water. I recommend this product.

The plastic box is torn. Maybe the contents were too cold, but I don't remember seeing a warning or anything weird before noticing the crack in the can. The glass is broken, but everything seems to be fine with the instrument itself. So if you don't care much about the glass, you can give it a try. I took a glass graduated cylinder, let's see how it behaves.

I bought this hydrometer because 1 the fluid reservoir was plastic, 2 the volume calibration was engraved on the tube and 3 the float had a color coded stem. When I found the bottom of the tank is removable I figured it would be easy to clean but when the tank is filled with test liquid it leaks like a strainer no matter I reinstall the bottom or how tight I make it, so I have to use a pan or bowl to avoid clutter, which is inconvenient. I wouldn't buy this again.

at the moment I give 2 stars. I was not happy that my item arrived broken. It must have been thrown away pretty badly considering all the protective packaging. Definitely disappointed. Wanted to use this to test the wine I make. I'm trying to make it before Christmas so it will definitely save me time. I will change my rating after I get a new hydrometer.

Good hydrometer! Calibrated well, I tested it at the temperature indicated in the instructions, with water and everything seems fine. The plastic tube looks cheap, but there are no leaks. I see some people complaining that the hose breaks when they try to take it apart, as far as I can see it has no threads! So if you use force it will break. Like everything else from such plastic.
