Non-tapered threads

These pipes have no tapered threads. This means you won't see any remaining threads when tightening the fitting. However, this also means that it is released until it hits the fitting. Even then, with a little wiggling, it will loosen up again. When you're doing something that requires some alignment and a tight fit that doesn't wobble, it's hard to use.

Excellent where finish is important, not for plumbing

I used these to make loft dividers in my garage. They have a beautiful black matte finish. The only thing to note is that the 1" NPT thread has a shallow depth of cut along the pipe axis. For that reason I doubt they will seal against the internal pressure of a gas or liquid. But for decorative, structural purposes they are good units. I will buy again for decorative/structural purposes.

Looks great for rough plumbing

I've ordered 2" and 6" lengths. The description says it is a smooth shiny finish and the 2 inch length matches that description. The length of 6 inches is very different; It's a matte black rough finish that feels much more substantial. The 6" also matches the angle and floor flange I bought from the same company. I buy everything from the same company because I wanted everything to match my shelving project. I chose the black lacquered finish because it this is what i have planned, it saves me

Buy more than you need and expect returns/exchanges of poorly threaded tubing.

My problem is that half of TJ's tubes/nipples are crooked (crooked threads). Some themes are completely useless. So if you buy 10 packs, expect at least 1, if not more, to be defective (up to 4 defects in a box). Also check the nipples. They also hit or miss completely and had to change about 20-30 of them. Now that you've found the right hose/nipple pair, it's AMAZING! If you don't, it's a nightmare. I ordered different sizes for a project. Only with the 4 inch was it possible to use all theโ€ฆ
