designed to fail in modules

I spent several hours on this. It works with Home Assistant, but the alarm routine I created is stuck in a loop. I eventually realized that when the LED turned on, the motion sensor was triggered, rendering this "multifunctional" device useless for my purpose. The second block did the same. I don't concern myself with the third. In principle, you can't use an LED together with a motion sensor - and it also spoils the readings of the light sensor.

A little unreliable

I was delighted with this product and was disappointed when it arrived. The first problem was that temperatures were reported in negative numbers. Tech support was quick to respond and had me do the usual equivalent of a reboot. Finally, I did a factory reset of the device, which fixed the issue. The brightness sensor constantly turns my headlights on and off during the day when they should be on. I saw 0 lux in daylight and 600 lux in the dark. Given the price of this sensor, I am very…

  • Negative gift

Got two sensors that didn't set the multicolor LED to green.

The first sensor is not set to green. Came back and got a replacement with the same problem. I have three HSM200s that I ordered about a year ago. One has failed, it does not stay online long before it fails (LED changes from correct color to light blue steady blinking). Two other previously purchased units have worked well since purchase. To troubleshoot two faulty devices I received recently, I replaced the new HSM200s with the old ones and they weren't working in the same place and running…

Use with WebCore and SmartThings to change colors based on events.

Although this device is labeled as a HomeSeer, it looks like an Express Controls EZMultiPli sensor and that's how it appears to SmartThings. However, it works with SmartThings and I use it to change colors based on different events. For me, it's red for an open door, white for motion detectors, and blue for doorbell events. However, I found that this only works with WebCore. With the standard SmartThings machines, it wouldn't change color, just turn white. I also noticed that the temperature…

Accurate and responsive.

Use this with Smartthings and a custom, community provided event handler. I wanted a temperature sensor that would report performance regularly (unlike Samsung's temp/humidity sensor) and it delivers that perfectly. Out of the box the temperature sensor seems very accurate - it matches other digital sensors I have. The motion sensor is an added bonus and I found it very responsive. My first device was DOA. After finding a manual from a "other" manufacturer of this device (a much more detailed…

Just what I needed

I use a HomeSeer HS3 system, mostly with Insteon equipment. I already had a battery-powered Insteon Motion Sensor II in my laundry room, but I wanted to put it in a closet and replace it with this one for two reasons: 1) it doesn't need batteries, and 2) it's impossible to find the Insteon Motion Sensor II now. Integration with HomeSeer was a breeze and it worked almost perfectly out of the box. I had no issues with the LED interfering with motion detection; I used a green LED to let me know it

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

Not worth the money

What I really needed was a light detector that would work with my Homeseer home automation software to automate indoor lighting for comfort and security. Regardless of whether I'm at home or not, the lights in the house turn on at different outside light levels, as if I were at home and it was getting dark inside. I already have a Homeseer ambient light sensor/headlamp control box, but the maximum light level it reports is only 200 lumens, which is pretty dim. While this works well for outdoor…

  • Could have opted for a newer model
