Just received these and so far they seem to be of decent quality. However, when I took them out of the box I was immediately disappointed that the hangers did not have the cherry finish as described or even as pictured on the box. This is espresso coffee (brown color, so dark that it can be mistaken for black in passing). As they seem to me to be excellent hangers, not worth returning. Too bad they don't even come close to matching my other hangers. I personally wouldn't do it.

These are some of the cheapest wooden hangers I've been able to find online. Despite their low weight, they are very durable and can withstand even heavy coats. They should last a long time. I knew having ordered they would be 'cheaper' compared to other wood options. I saw the whole package weighed 2lbs compared to the 8lbs listed in other ads but for 1/3 or less of the price. I ordered two boxes in 2011 and early 2012 (same page, Amazon brought this to my attention) and they were perfect. I've just ordered a box (January 2013) and found that without warning, the company decided to replace the wooden plank with a plastic plank. I've had a couple of occasions where the hook has come off the hanger but I've glued it back on. and most hold up well. I use this coat rack downstairs, so almost all of our jackets hang on these hangers. As I mentioned there were a couple of instances where the hook came loose and in one instance the connection at the top where the two pieces of wood meet started to loosen but the rest held up well.
