Honeywell IS3035 Motion Detector Foot Review

Replaced a sensor that died after 20 years of use. Neat installation instructions. Easy setup. Fast motion detection in the standard program.

Purchased based on a reviewer who said it worked on his old Radio Shack system. Well, I plugged it in, turned it on, and it blinked like it was going through an initialization phase. After he stopped blinking, he tried to pass the test. No Answer. Doesn't work for me.

This is a standard infrared motion detector designed for wired alarm systems. It works well. It has some sensitivity, distance, detection angle and pet immunity settings. I use this to provide inputs to my home automation system. What I noticed is that the sensor's output is "chatty," which means the output turns on and off with an indicator light as people walk around. It has no delay to stay on for a few seconds after traffic stops. Maybe they all work that way. This is a wonderful product.
