Description of πŸ”Œ UltraPro Add-On Switch - QuickFit and SimpleWire, In-Wall, White Rocker Paddle - Z-Wave/ZigBee Wireless Smart Lighting Controls (Non-Standalone), 39350

Revolutionary, patent-pending design – QuickFit and SimpleWire technologies offer groundbreaking home automation features. Unique advancements make the smart controls easier to install and more reliable than ever. QuickFit – Improved components reduced the housing depth by up to 20% compared to previous models and eliminated the need for heat tabs. QuickFit enhancements are the ideal solution for older-style switch boxes, multi-gang configurations or any other application with limited space. SimpleWire – Dual ground ports, which are offset to avoid switch box mounting screws, support daisy-chaining in multi-switch setups. Light-commercial capable – Supports 120VAC and 277VAC for universal use in a variety of systems. The switch is suitable for use in common home 120VAC or light-commercial 277VAC applications without additional equipment. Multi-switch operation – The switch is not a standalone device. It must be used with a smart control for home automation. The smart switch or dimmer and as many as four add-on switches can be linked for operation from up to 5 locations.

EASY PEASY , Works with Smartthings and Alexa

What I liked most about these switches was the way they were installed. Yes, neutral you need. They provide a white wire to use if needed. The switches are clearly labeled so you know which wire goes to which port. There are no messy cable caps here except ground, you put the wires in the slots and tighten the screws. I wish all "stupid" dimmers were like this! I have installed two of them and two of their smart plugs and will be buying more

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Make sure to sort your wiring

I have 3 3 way and 1 4 way setup in my house that I wanted to make smart. 2 out of 3 paths were easy because they connected to neutral. One of the 3 strips had no neutral and it took me a while to figure out how to wire it to work with a dimmer with no neutral on the other end. 4 ways actually required thinking about how all the wiring works, understanding each of the boxes and then wiring them accordingly. But having done all that, I am very happy with these dimmers.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

They work as expected

They work as expected. Physically identical to GE switches, but report them differently in the Smartthings hub. The light almond color is wrong. without reporting the status of Samsung SmartThings, but it resolved itself after a week. but another brand's switch had the same problem at the same time, so I'm guessing it was the center of the smart stuff. It still executed the on/off commands, which is all I used it for. Updated for all other errors.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Quality

It works very well

Conclusion - it's better than being tied to a 3rd party cloud service so it meets my needs. I use them with MQTT and Home Assistant as well as Google Assistant. With Google Assistant, the response is a bit slow or Google replies with "device disabled" although the command works, but I think the delay is due to my particular setting and not the toggle itself. It took me 6-7 tries to get it to sync with my RPI hub, but again I don't know if it's me or the switches.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • fades

Remote requires Samsung SmartThings hub and wired internet access

Works well, replaces old X-10 3-position remote switches. Minor changes to the wiring are clearly shown in the accompanying instructions. The crossover wires used in standard 3 wire circuits are reused as 1) lamp load directly from main switch 2) as connection between remote switch and main switch to duplicate bright/dim on/off. Both switches are tied to neutral to power their logic/wireless functions. Requires a SmartThings Hub (Samsung) to communicate with smartphones and Alexa. Works stably

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Very expensive

Wall mounted controls ideal solution

I have been using Smart Switches for about 5 years. Initially, I used Linear/Go Control switches everywhere that didn't have a "runner" or any physical connection between the primary and auxiliary switches. With Smartthings, this is far from ideal, as it requires setting up smart lighting apps that turn the main switch on or off when the auxiliary switch is activated, which always causes an annoying delay. When you hit the switch, you want the light to come on immediately, not five or ten…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Basically everything is fine but...

Working but compatible with my LEDs.

I have used this make/model of switches several times in my home and have had great luck. Setting: power switch1-switch2-light. Auxiliary switch DOES NOT CLOSE like a simple switch. The diagram was a little confusing to me (where they labeled the light load) but looking back at how it had to be set up it makes sense. So. You need to check your current wiring system and figure out which switch is getting power. If you can't, hire someone. So the switched on switch is your main smart switch (not…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not all will fit
