🔌 Hopkins 43445 Toyota RAV4 Trailer Wiring Kit: Easy & Reliable Vehicle-to-Trailer Connection Review

This product is very good and very well connected to my RAV4 but the one page instructions is not clear enough. After reading the instructions, I put them aside and searched YouTube for a video on how to remove this kit. The kit is great!

I ordered the curt version of this lighting set first. The cables were pinched a bit and after about 10 hours of towing it stopped working. I have decided to order a Hopkins block as a replacement. The wires are longer which makes installation easier, otherwise the kits are almost identical. Hopkins' unit ran about 40 hours of active towing with no problems.

This controller was ordered to replace one that died after 4 or 5 uses (from another supplier). It installs easily and works well so far, fingers crossed it lasts longer than the other. The wiring harness isn't very heavy but I will only be using it for trailer LED lights so it shouldn't be a problem otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

Cabin wiring is simple. I cut a slit in one of the rubber plugs in the cargo area and routed the cables from the cab right up to the hitch. You'll need to file the side hole a bit to get the connector through. Route the power cord with the hanger to the rear sill, under the front sill, through the hole at the top of the kick rail area, and through the battery.

Installing this wiring harness is so easy and the product is of a very high quality. Just be sure to be very careful when taking the panels apart to install the wiring harness. It would be nice if there were pictures in the instructions but I managed to do it without any problems. My only complaint would be that the mounting adhesive needs to be stronger, but it worked great. Now I can tow my boat again.

This kit is a really good option. This kit includes everything you need for a professional installation. It saves time and money than if someone else were doing it. The only thing I would add is a better guide with illustrations. I highly recommend checking out some of the YouTube installs. Some of them are exceptional. This saved me a lot of time and allowed me to understand what I really need to do. Finally the price. I saved more than half what I would have to pay at a retail auto parts…

I've only used this product once and it worked so can't comment on durability but at least it's not terrible. Installation was easy, although the instructions aren't very good. However, written instructions will always be insufficient for such work. Do yourself a favor, find a YouTube video and follow it. The standout feature of this product is that the wires were quite long. The cable from the driver to the passenger was about 12 inches too long, and the cable to the battery was about 24…
