The video is ok but the sound is not.

If you just want to download a video stream without audio, this seems to work. It is a bit fiddly when connecting and disconnecting. I also had to prepare the program before connecting the converter for it to work properly. The sound is distorted and really not very good. I tried adjusting the levels, but even with the volume going as low as possible to the converter, it was still audible that it was still distorted. I need good audio and video quality, so unfortunately I am returning the…

Pros
  • Supports true 24-bit color and has a stable frame rate regardless of video content
Cons
  • Doubtful

So far so good! This works as expected for capturing 1080p screencasts from another computer with OBS, or capturing on the same screen (mostly seen as looping and screen mirroring). My only complaint is minor and it seems that the default/preferred resolution is low, meaning I can't record the entire boot process as smoothly as I'd like. But that's pretty minimal, and for regular desktop recording, the 1920×1080 selection works just fine. Oh, and it works great with Linux for both output and…

Works better than the Avermedia ExtremeCap at about half the price!

It was almost half the price of the Avermedia 3.0- Device I tried received all signals with no visible bands. It also has fairly low latency, comparable to my much more expensive Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 which doesn't accept a 1080p60 signal. Avermedia didn't get a 1080p24 signal on my Mac, but when I switched the camera to 1080p60 it actually worked, although there were a lot of streaks in the gradients. This HornetTek worked much better for me. It's also recognized by Zoom, Skype,

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
