Efficient and Reliable Waterstone!

This industrial and scientific waterstone solution is a game-changer when it comes to sharpening even the dullest blades in a few quick motions. Through trial and error, I found that this dual-sided sharpening tool provides versatility and efficiency with consistent results. The HornTide Combination Waterstone is a reliable finishing product that's easy to use and user-friendly. One con would be that it requires some practice and skill to get the perfect angle of sharpening every time. Overall,

Pros
  • Dual-sided stone for both coarse and fine sharpening
Cons
  • Requires the use of water which could be inconvenient in certain settings

Good stone! for hand tools

My first sharpening stone and it's a champion! It effortlessly sharpens my paring knife, paring knife, and chef's knife. Good grain balance. I bought angled guides to go with it as all knives are of different origins and I didn't want to ruin them which seems pretty easy. The only thing that confuses me is that the white side can be easily tagged.

Pros
  • 1000 coarse grit, for repairing a severely damaged cutting edge.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Ideal for fillet (thin) knives!

It takes time to learn the right technique, but the stone itself is magnificent. I can make pieces of paper with any fillet knife every time. Difficult with a 440A/C combat knife, but I'm not sure how sharp you can get it. I can cut paper with 440A steel, but not as cleanly as filleting knives. I keep mine in a Tupperware container with water so it's always ready.

Pros
  • Double-sided sharpening. The fine texture and the power of sharpening ensure the speed and quality of sharpening.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
