Fair value - but ribs on the left and ribs on the right

I like the value of this kit. It has 4 MTB brake cables and 4 shifter cables, end caps and frame stays, everything you need for two bikes. The cables are very well packaged and tinned at the ends to prevent wear and tear. The only complaint is the poor workmanship of the anchors. The cylinders and wires, obtained from the injection molding process, have aluminum burrs (cast ribs) which do not allow them to penetrate the grooves of the brake levers - see photo. I sawed off the fins and trimmed…

A good set of replacement cables for any bike

Replacement cable set containing four each brake and shifter cables and matching end caps/donuts which are then crimped to prevent wear on the ends. The cables themselves are long enough to be used on any size and type of bike. The ends are tightly braided without the wire unraveling, allowing you to easily slide down the cable body. I used one of the brake cables to replace a broken one on my son's mountain bike and had no trouble installing it or threading it through the original cable…

Did the job on a 24 " Schwinn Mountain Bike

I was able to change the brake cable on an old 24" Schwinn Mountain Bike in about 25 minutes. Pulling the rope was easy. I have to play with the bike setup to restore pad spacing, but that comes with territory if you get into one of those adventures. I cut the cable to length with wire cutters and crimped the end cap. and behaves like new. A few bucks saved compared to taking it to a bike shop and the hassle of having someone work on it and having to pick it up later. Not entirely sure why…

The cables are good. End caps are crap and fell off

I am satisfied with the quality of the cables. Bought a used bike for my son and decided to run new cables (brakes and shifters) when cleaning. The cables are of good quality, with no obvious manufacturing defects, and easily route through the cable housing and the bike. For a few weeks the cable has not weakened or stretched. The end clips aren't great and when I checked my son's bike about a couple weeks later while he was riding it, I saw that both clips had come loose leaving a bare, sharp…

Need a replacement for all my lines, this did the trick.

A few months ago I decided to repair a bike I bought from Costco in 2008. It was a Schwinn with Shimano parts everywhere. I drove it for a while as it was my main mode of transportation before buying the car and then it sat outside a lot which didn't do the bodywork or parts any good. I sanded everything and repainted the main frame but I had to replace almost everything else. All of my brakes and shifter lines were outdated and looking pretty bad at the top so I had to replace them. Received…

Just what I need for mechanical disc brakes

I have a 2015 Raleigh Misceo Trail 2.0 hybrid bike. It is equipped with Shimano disc brakes, which I have never worked with before. The other day the rear brake cable broke and I was looking for a replacement cable. I really didn't want to change the cable routing so I was hoping to just find a bare cable and hopefully one that would be disc brake compatible. Looking at Revain I couldn't find anything special so I took a chance and bought this kit. Although this cable isn't exactly the same…
