The resulting pliers did not properly match the notches on the locking ring and had a tendency to slip and damage the locking ring. When that didn't work I tried the Park HCW-5 key and it worked really well.

I used the Hozan C-203 pliers to install the new bottom bracket and got a good snap ring connection. What a HUGE improvement over the Park Tool HCW-5 box wrench!

This tool is a perfect example of Hozan tool quality and convenience. It mounts well and is useful not only for bottom bracket snap rings (better than most tools for the same job), but also for removing the plastic caps on cheap spring steel forks, which is an absolute must when those cheap forks start squeaking. If you're serious about taking on the job of a bike mechanic, a pair of these bikes is a must.

Forget the Park and Pedro. Your snap ring removal tools are complete crap. I've been trying to remove a stuck locking ring from a stuck rear hub for over a year. I have both a snap ring tool and a Pedros locking tool. None of them were helpful. Did a little research and came across this tool.
