High-Performance DisplayPort to VGA Adapter Review

Bought for work. I had to set up a dual screen for my boss. His machine only had one VGA out and one DisplayPort out, so that was the right decision for me. It worked great. Actually saved us a lot of money. Highly recommended.

Runs like clockwork. I'm not sure what the "HP" in the name is, but it doesn't appear to be Hewlett-Packard since the device has no brand name at all. But it looks high quality and is easy to use. This has allowed me to expand my laptop's display and the video quality seems fine.

I bought this adapter because I had two VGA monitors that I wanted to use with my desktop. And I find it much cheaper to buy an adapter than to buy a displayport monitor. At the time of writing this review I have been using this product for many years without incident. I have always monitored religiously. And I will never go back to a monitor unless needed on a laptop. Even if you can use multiple monitors on one laptop.

This product was purchased so that I could control a second monitor from my computer without having to install additional hardware. After a few startup issues, I got it up and running relatively well. However, from time to time I lose the ability to use the monitor which is powered by the adapter and I have to restart it to turn it back on. This may simply be a display port operation issue and not an adapter issue. Without the aggravating need to restart from time to time I would give this…
