Amazing headset with great clarity when it works...

I like these headsets apart from their little flaws that may not bother you. Within the first week I fell in love with this headset and in the same week it did not disappoint. I had the infamous dead data cable problem that gave me a 4-1 error. Getting this error saves you the headache of troubleshooting and either RMA or return. It's not the computer, it's the cable. Unfortunately I returned my headset but plan to use it once HP fixes this issue. TLDR: This is one of the best VR headsets I've…

  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Lots of things

Compatibility problems or many defects.

This headset is not compatible with many eligible computers. After making sure my system met the requirements (actually a lot more), I ordered it. When it arrived and I plugged it in I got a terrible 1-4 error. I spent 2 hours waiting with HP support to have a 5 minute conversation which resulted in "return it is defective" which I did. The replacement had the same error. This leads me to believe that I either received 2 faulty products (unlikely) or HP's claims are guidelines only. Either way,

  • Persistent Test Results
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Good headset that could be improved

Well built headset. The controllers work quite well. Setup is ok, not as easy as Oculus. There are too many cords and it's a lot harder to move around when you have all those cords around you. You need a powerful computer or the movements and reaction times will not be smooth. Significantly sharper than the Oculus 2, but has a very narrow field of view, which doesn't make the overall impression very good. The sound is ok but not in your ear only nearby so you can hear any nearby noises. All in…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • weak

Everyone jumps on board

It looks like VR has finally reached the price and quality levels that are gaining momentum. At the last Microsoft conference, it was evident that Microsoft fully embraces integration, Linux, virtual servers, services and virtual reality. This is how this headset fits. Fresnel lenses tend to give a sharp image in the center of the eye, but become fuzzy or fuzzy when you look to the side. So expect your head to be spinning to keep the image sharp. It has the highest resolution screen for the…

Awesome VR headset but there is a cable issue.

G2 is just great. It's light, has excellent resolution and is very slim! The face mask fits well, is comfortable and does not let any light through. For this reason I put 5 starts. However, there is a known issue with the USB cable and firmware. HP is aware of this issue and is working on a fix. The cable may or may not work. I had a cable that worked for about a week and it didn't work very well. And suddenly my headset stopped working. I contacted HP support and they sent me a new cable for…
