Fixed my Dyson in about 5 minutes. Works great and easy to install. Google "replace Dyson power cord" and you'll have all the images you need in minutes. WITHOUT HARD WIRE. easy clips to slide them in place. I wish I had done that sooner. Didn't know it would be that easy. And no worse than the cable that came with Dyson.

The cord is the same 17 AWG wire with spade and ferrule as the original. It took some effort to thread the cord through the welly, but no more than a similar piece with a shovel. Use electrical tape to join the ends into a single piece that you can brush with some dish soap and thread through. Time will tell how strong the line is.

Cable runs through, vacuum handle is protected by a "sleeve" to prevent constant bending and eventual breaking of the cables. It is very difficult to route the replacement cable through this sleeve as both connections are next to each other. If one were a little longer than the other, it would easily fit through the sleeve and easily attach to the wires inside the vacuum cleaner handle.

My 10 year old DC14 stuttered according to my wife. After a good cleaning, it worked fine for 15 seconds, then a spark flew out of the handle and it turned off. The power cord turned out to be a problem after I verified the switch was working. It was easy (enough) to install, it took a bit of patience to slide the clips through the old tensioner, but my vacuum is alive and well again.

I replaced the cord on a 15 year old Hoover vacuum and the cord worked great. It's more flexible than the original and maybe 6 feet longer. It took a bit of fiddling to disassemble the vacuum and I cut off one of the connectors to route the cord through the entry point. The cut wire still went into the nut. The remaining connector is ideal for connection to the switch.

Replaced the cable on my DC25 with this one. I bought this unit on purpose because it had a clip to secure the cord for storage. Perfect replacement with one exception, the cable comes with two spade connectors and the one I replaced had a female and male connector. The simple fix was to cut the white connector off the original and solder it to the new one. One simple fix and now our Dyson vacuum cleaner isn't going to the landfill!

Seller was great - no problem. The replacement cable, however, was a beast to understand. Ideally, your new power cord should come with no clips or caps on the ends of the cord and with two such clips for you to use at the right time. This product had rubber caps on the end which were completely useless on my DE 14 Low Reach. Let me state that if you purchase this item, you will complete this project quickly (as opposed to my full hour). The end of the old power cord has a clear electrical plug
