It Matters - Electrical Boxes, Wiring and Fittings

Really well built and solid. But. After taking them out of the box, I went to open the latch that covered the sockets. Obviously there is a small hole to pick them up, but they don't budge. I tried using some plastic to pry it open, but still wouldn't budge. Eventually I emailed the manufacturer saying I was giving up and if they would tell me the secret. I received an answer almost immediately. Apparently no one can open it and everyone is calling or emailing this guy. You will need a…

Does exactly what I need with a few added benefits

I installed this floor socket in my carpeted wooden sub floor. Installation can be a daunting task for those unfamiliar with home renovations. Suitable power tools and basic knowledge of how to use them are required. I would also mention a basic knowledge of electrical wiring and local electrical codes if you are wiring it yourself. The socket bracket needs to be adjusted to accommodate the thickness of your floor and the instructions could be a bit clearer on that area. The recessed outlet was

from underfloor installation) and then failed again by ordering a $180 product specifically for high rise (if any), this box is well made, installed on finished floors (and in other situations, see manufacturer info) and has probably the best outlet cover mechanism I've seen in a floor box. The lids snap into place with a strong fingernail or something hard (compared to many that require a tool), stay latched in the box (won't get lost like some others), and OPEN IN ANY DIRECTION (two-way…

Very nice floor socket

To replace stage sockets that are more than 30 years old. The outlet is typically used under a lectern, and the slim DC power adapter works well for lighting (although the lid doesn't close when plugged in). The locking lid works well and stays closed when using standard cables. The main reason we chose this model was to use a decor style outlet. As I mentioned earlier, we replaced an old outlet that was a standard outlet within 2 feet of the Baptistery. It was very easy to swap out the socket…

Almost milspec in terms of functionality and durability.

I now have floor sockets from other manufacturers at home, but experience has shown that they are imperfect for two reasons: the object inserted protrudes above the floor and can hit and break when the furniture is moved (it is happens .) When we're having fun, we sometimes rearrange furniture and leave floor sockets unplugged. Although fairly well made from machined brass, the rosettes should be covered with the supplied silver dollar sized threaded inserts when not in use. These inserts are…

Small stencil contributed to more gray hair

I needed a floor socket that is flush with the floor, metal, black, gasket to seal out air and moisture and the socket is deep so the plugs don't protrude and get in the way Furniture .This floor socket fits in every way except it doesn't sit flush with the floor. Build quality is good. The door is not difficult to open to access the outlet. Rubber seals are good. The seal isn't bad BUT it was painful to put on. It was ONLY painful because the supplied template is 3mm too small. I struggled to…
