Now it works great.

The humidity reading didn't work until I opened the small vents on the back to allow more airflow. Just cut them down with a few dykes. Now it works great.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Low repairability

Tested 3 different ways, that's for sure!

It's really accurate, calibrated with laser and mercury thermometers, you can't go wrong. The humidity is also compared to the humidity of our dehumidifier. Place it on your home thermostat for a really accurate check.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Very expensive

Broke in five days!

After about 5 days of use, I noticed that the humidity numbers were now letters (LL). I reread the instructions, disassembled and reassembled, and then pressed the reset button on the back of the battery compartment. Without change. Very disappointed!

  • Certified

Pleasing to the eye in humidifier parts and accessories

I wanted a humidity monitor but also needed an alarm clock. This is all including temperature. It doesn't light up unless you press the button to read the time. Then it's a soft green background that's easier on the eyes than blue. Large font is clearly visible. It's just as easy to set up.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • No

Robust, thoughtful design.

That's exactly what I expected. What I wasn't expecting and what I really liked is the design - it's designed as a unit - no deforming struts or ugly bits. If I accidentally knock it on the bedside table, it's strong, sturdy and won't fall or break at night.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Moisture readings wrong

I had another Oregon Scientific unit. I liked it so I bought it. The temperature readings on this device are fine. The moisture reading is consistently 10% higher. I'm wondering how the manufacturer verifies/tests the moisture levels? Yes, I returned my device because I can't use it.

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • OK

Good pad with one caveat

This is a good pad, well designed and easy to read. However, one caveat is that if you use this to control the humidity in your home in the winter, the humidity reading will show 'LL', meaning the low level limit is less than 25% humidity. My other brands of hygrometer operate lower and are more responsive to the low humidity levels common in Midwest winters. If you use it for summer humidity or live in a warmer climate, this device should be fine.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • old
