Hunter 28547 Marine Profile Bronze Review

Perfect complement to our ceiling fan. So we don't need any additional light in the room. This was an addition to an existing ceiling fan and was very easy to install.

I'm replacing the Mariner 2 fan and lighting kit with a new one. The light should be white, not green. So beware of another Chinese product with no quality control.

This is a decent outdoor fan. However, mounting a Hunter outdoor ceiling fan is incredibly difficult, and the engineering design, which involved various screws and fasteners, must have been created by a vengeful engineer who had never heard of ease of use. The lighting kit required me to disassemble the fan speed switch cover. And the light and fan control wires are very close together. What should have taken 30-45 minutes ended up taking over 2 hours instead. I just can't recommend it.

I bought five of these hunter fan light kits 54097 after the hunter was satisfied that the light kit could be installed. IT CANNOT! After many calls and repeated claims that this was possible, my electrician had to remove the pull chain and gear and install it correctly. As others have said, installation can be VERY difficult! It seemed like it was designed by the Chinese to intentionally piss off American installers. You invent new swear words by removing the last of the four screws holding the plastic base. This lighting kit works with my outdoor fan but I noticed the finish and quality struck me. The light is really bright and looks nice, but when mounting the unit to the fan, the screws that came with it were a bit longer than the faucet. So the screws don't properly attach the light to the fan base. I used duct tape to close the gap but it won't last long, I'll have to come up with a permanent solution.
