Better than homemade mugs.

Finally broke and got one of these. Over the years I've tried to "get by" with other things, empty wine bottles, liquor bottles, tin cans, you name it. defects in use. This should do an excellent job of reducing leakage and allowing the hydrometer to float upright.

Does what it's supposed to do, but doesn't show where it's filled.

I would like glass or heavy transparent plastic so I can see how full it is. I had to measure how much juice to pour in so it wouldn't overflow. However, it works well with the hydrometer from the same company, so it's a great product in that regard.

Instead, take the 10-inch

This is a metal cup so it works but it's a bit small. When you use it, it will spill a little. No fun when you're dealing with sticky liquid at 200 degrees. It is impossible to pour less syrup, otherwise the hydrometer will simply sit on the bottom of the cup. Take 10 inches. version instead.

I'd like it made out of glass or heavy gauge clear plastic so I can see how full it is. I had to measure how much juice to pour in so it wouldn't overflow. However, it works well with the hydrometer from the same company, so it's a great product in that regard.

Go for the 10-inch instead

It's a metal cup so it works, but it's a bit small. It's quite difficult to work with as you have some overflow from the offset caused by the hydrometer. when you use it. No fun when you're dealing with sticky liquid at 200 degrees. It is impossible to pour less syrup, otherwise the hydrometer will simply sit on the bottom of the cup. Get the 10 inch version instead.
