Excellent antenna to match accessory

For the price you can't beat this antenna. It's well built and outperforms some pricier antennas. Good product. Many Thanks

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Obsolete

This is complete crap in portable audio and video

This antenna is complete crap to say the least it seems a bit thicker than aluminum foil seriously so 239 fell to me in hand DO NOT BUY THIS

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Best performance requires gas

Hard to beat for the price. I tweaked it and got extreme performance, but after adding Palomar Mix 61 ferrite for the choke I got great results (could also use coax, but impractical for my lmr400 setup). I use this in my attic so I can't confirm it's resistant to the elements, but it's solid enough for my application. Setup was pretty easy. I found the tuning was positioned pretty much right on the edge of the heat shrink tubing to cover both ham radio and GMRS bands.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Annoying

Excellent for the price.

Easy to assemble except you have to use emery cloth with a match to put it on the sleeve of the relevant stick. I had to enlarge the hole a bit. When assembled it had a standing wave of 1.3 at 460 MHz as measured by an antenna analyzer. With a bit of fiddling, we've moved that 1.3 SWR to the top of the 440MHz amateur band. Time will tell if it survives the Midwest winter.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Only available in black

For best performance you need a throttle

Hard to beat for the price. Pros
  • a handy part
Cons
  • I don't like it that much, everything is fine

Let the fox hunt begin

I bought this antenna for fox hunting. It is relatively small and light, making it ideal for handheld use. The assembly was insanely easy. Seriously, if you want guidance, you should give up your HAM license and take up another hobby. I chose the local repeater; Both the Tx and Rx ranges have been significantly improved over the HT's rubber ducky. I see where the design could be improved, mainly at the connection point of the two-piece carrier. I can see where I might need to "improve" this in…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
