Not very magnetic base

Might work well with shorter antennas but I couldn't go faster than 45 mph without the magnet coming off the roof of my 5/8 wave VHF car. I bought this specifically for this antenna and it failed. However, I used it to communicate with my local ARES group and it worked great on the landline.

Pros
  • Magnetic base Easy installation, plug and play installation.
Cons
  • ---

Non-magnetic magnetic mount

Okay, it's actually somewhat magnetic as you can use it to move the compass needle. But it will not hold the antenna securely. I tried using it on a rental car and ended up bouncing off the side of the car when I hit 40mph. I later tried it on both the roof and back of a Sierra 1500 pickup truck and it rolled over several times before hitting freeway speed. It's a waste of money unless you want to stick it on your filing cabinet. just don't put it too close to the vent or it might be blown away

Pros
  • NMO connection type with 5m (16.4 ft) coax cable RG58 connector PL-259
Cons
  • Available in white only

I don't overload it with very high antennas and remove the antenna and bracket when I leave the car for a long time. The connection between the base and the coaxial cable is strong to prevent the coaxial cable from loosening or breaking the connection to the bracket. The bottom part is with a soft one Plastic disc equipped to avoid scratches on the painted surface.

NMO Magnetic Mount with Strong Magnet Base

I like this magnetic NMO mount because it is an NMO mount and has a strong magnetic base. I use it for different antennas depending on whether I'm working with a mobile device on 2 meters, 70 cm or 222 MHz. I don't overload it with very tall antennas and remove the antenna and mount when leaving the car for long periods of time. The connection between the base and the coaxial cable is strong to prevent the coaxial cable from loosening or breaking the connection to the bracket. The lower part is
