I5 8279U Processor Computer 💻 with Windows OS – Up to 4.1GHz Review

I bought this computer mainly for making music and it works perfectly for my needs (I'm not a pro, but I'm not a total beginner either). I mainly use Reaper as a DAW and it works like clockwork. No crashes, no lag and very fast render times. I often use plugins for Guitar Rig 6, Kontakt, Reaktor etc and they all work fine. So far this computer has exceeded all my expectations. I'll update this review if it blows up or something, but so far so good. Very satisfied.

This PC does not support 4k UHD or 1080p. Any video you watch from any platform is streamed in SDR format only. Cannot enable HDR or stream HDR video.

Moved my NucBox back to a newer NucBox2 due to i5 and more ports. But it gave me a lot of setup problems. The Bluetooth keyboard is slow to connect, turn on more slowly and for some reason the 14-inch GMK-K1 monitor that comes with the Nucabox doesn't have the monitors' touchscreen functionality. I mainly use a microcomputer to process orders for my small online business. So I like that I can easily move it from one part of the house to another without much hassle. I upgraded my RAM from 8GB to 16GB by adding another RAM stick. I also replaced the 256 NVME with a Samsung 970 500GB NVME. I use NucBox 2 as my main desktop computer. It is also used as a Plex server with an 8GB external hard drive. A 1 TB SSD was used as a backup and storage medium. It gets a little warm so I use it when I'm standing on my side for better airflow. I use about 2.5 watts in idle mode. Great little computer. I haven't tried playing with it.

This mini pc is very light and portable. I'm buying it for use in my new vacation home in Florida. Windows 10 came pre-installed and was very easy to set up. I mainly use it for work and daily browsing and it's great. I haven't tried playing resource-intensive video games yet. But I have a feeling he can handle about 70% of them. Load times are lightning fast and have zero bloat. The Type-C connector is used a lot and I like that it has two HDMIs. I'd rather have an extra USB Type-C port.
