Piece of junk best in Stairs

All nuts, bolts and washers in box. The rivets broke, the thing was bent so it could be riveted in the corner and broken. Doesn't fit no matter what you do. Generally insecure. I came back the next day. Don't waste your time or money.

a few steps so you can flatten it for stairs

a few steps so you can flatten it for stairs - stairs with or without carpet to reach vaulted ceilings, small steps for outside on uneven surfaces. Easily disassembled for storage in a box. Good and hard work.

Felt secure and worked well

Unfortunately my custom ladder was too steep to work in the adjustable range but I put a 1/4 inch board under my foot and then it worked great . I felt completely safe at the top of the 24 foot extension ladder on this leveler. It's very strong, and if you press it against the wall next to the stairwell, it becomes strong.

  • Quality construction

as expected in the accessories section

Fit was fine, no issues like those reported here. The pins slipping through the holes are firm, but I guess that's to be expected. The bottom support leg extends beyond the dimensions of the platform, which somewhat limits placement options (full extension of the ladder beyond the step edge is not possible). Maybe I'll just rent this as I probably won't need it for years after 3 internships.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons

Sturdy, gets the job done.

Bought a large model and it has enough room for a ladder shoe. Used with Werner's 3-step aluminum staircase on the second floor staircase. The device seemed stable, not wobbly in the slightest. Felt very safe with it. The instructions say to use it with a 75 degree ladder. Now I need a protractor to determine exactly what 75 degrees is. I won't be using Ladder Pro very often, but it's nice to know I have it when I need it.

Pros
  • Good to use

  • Torn

The solution I needed

Ideal Security LAP1 Ladder-Aide Pro was just what I needed. I've been trying to figure out how to draw the two story walls/vaulted ceilings that the stairs go under. Too high for the Little Giant ladder and the railing of the ladder blocked the extension ladder from working. When I finally discovered this item, I ordered it immediately and have been using it with an extension ladder to paint the walls and ceiling ever since. It worked great and was very stable. I never got nervous while using…

  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Good design is the way of painting the walls in the stairwells

I had some doubts when I read the advertising for this device. But the only alternative was scaffolding, which was a nightmare to erect and had to be hired and transported. This block is adjustable for almost any stair size and is very stable. We have used it with a 16 foot extension ladder but with the 8 foot ladder fully retracted. A longer staircase does not fit in a typical staircase. Also, adjustable ladders like the Little Giant and others sold by Lowe are NOT suitable for this unit as…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • The negative is there

I start this review with REASON I returned this item. I have collected many parts and mechanisms and I know for sure that the groove connecting the top (where the ladder is located) to the adjustable neck WILL NOT FIT. I could clearly see the slots where they were supposed to meet and they lined up perfectly, but they just didn't "click" right. This prevented using safety pins as the holes didn't line up leaving you with a wobbly platform. I needed this device for work because of a project I'm…
