The shipping box didn't last.

The manufacturer's best bet is to pack the coilpack in the shipping carton, the part received outside the carton is very thin and flimsy. I had to bend the brackets in place.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Bought as a replacement.

I have a Miata 2000SE with over 200,000 miles on it. This product was purchased as one of several items prior to a recent 2000+ mile trip. Luckily it wasn't necessary, but it gave me a lot of "quietness" in the trunk.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Minor issues

Spark plug wires not properly attached to coil pack

Spark plug wires keep slipping off coil pack. They don't lock securely. I've tried several spark plug leads with the same result. Very disappointed with this product. I cannot use it in my car because of this defect.

The bracket does not fit.

I bought this for my 99 NB Miata because I was having idle issues. The bracket does not match the screw holes in the motor. It was too wide for the original engine ports. I ended up removing the coil pack from this mount and reusing the original mount instead. This coil worked and solved my problem. Have to see if it holds up.

Worthy replacement for the price

The bracket that comes with the coils is not the same as the regular 1999-2000 Miata coil bracket. This problem is easily solved by replacing the new coils with the old mount. (I installed this on a 2000 Miata. After the first run the coil works as expected, but I haven't warmed up or started the engine since installing it. Let's see how it performs in the long run.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Works perfectly! Best in Parts

Used this on a 2000 Mazda Miata to replace an OEM coil with 119,000 miles on the clock. The engine shook when accelerating and this was especially bad on hot days when the engine was running for a while. Since, as others have pointed out, the OEM spool has a rubber/metal washer holding the bottom third bolt, I simply removed two coil packs from this new spool, bolted it to the old frame, and put it back in place. My hesitation problem has been solved and the machine definitely runs a lot…

  • Cool Product
Cons

Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I bought this item at the end of May. I had to remove the packages and put them in the original holder, a very simple process. I had 111,000 on the odometer. With the package, new spark plugs and cables, the car ran great. In early December, at 118,000 on the odometer, trip #2 occurred. I had no ignition and the wire continuity was good. I've tried different cables and plugs to be sure, still no difference. O'Reilly Automotive has supplied a new factory coil pack with a lifetime warranty. Runs…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons

Defective after 2 months.

My car misfired. Coil packs are known culprits for this misfire problem. I ordered and installed this device and at first the problem seemed to be solved. Over time, the misfire problem seemed to slowly return. I finally found another problem that was actually causing the misfires. But then the "Check Engine" light came on, which wasn't there before. I've checked all the usual suspects that could be causing this issue, namely Scancode P0171, Depleted Burn. Everything was fine and the only thing

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
