Function over shape for tester

Does the job and helps you determine if the problem is on the tractor or trailer side. As some others have said and I understand it depends on the vehicle but for me both the 4 pins and the 7 blades were such that I basically had to crawl under the car to see the lights. Perhaps a better design would make this easier. Maybe two LED lights or a moving panel?

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Functionality

Works but difficult to use.

The LEDs are in a location that is difficult to see when plugged into the 7-pin connector. They are between the tester and the underside of the bumper, making them difficult to see. If they were on the end where the 4 pin connector is, that would be perfect. Then it would make sense to only test the 7-pin connector, but that's what I need. Although for what I need to do it will work.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

  • Some minor things

Works perfectly! - Circuit Tester

I make a living selling trailers and every time I hook up a new trailer for a customer I want to make sure all the lights work before they leave. Headlights don't work from time to time so I use that right away to determine if the problem is primarily with the customer's car. Works perfectly! The only wish is that the LED turn signals are on both sides, because on some axles the fork is reversed.

Pros
  • Hands Free Operation
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff

7-leaf and 4-pin tester

excellent product, very easy to read. I tied a 7 pin connector and a spade connector together on a bracket under the bumper. I thought I had a blown fuse when the 7th way didn't work. Plug it into a spade plug and get power. Reconnect it to pin 7, go under the trucks to the wires and find that there is a bad connection. thanks for helping me find a simple solution that would have been a nightmare.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Not the best

You need a mirror to use it

The problem with this tester is that the lights only shine on one side. When plugged into my truck, the headlights face down towards the bumper so the headlights are not visible. I have to use a mirror to see which lights are on. This may not be a problem for you depending on where your plug is located on your vehicle. The second problem I had with this tester is that one of the blades on the 7-pin end is inserted all the way into the back of the connector and doesn't make contact with my…

Not working on Audi Q7 2017

The tester was plugged into the 7-pin towing electrical connector in the rear of the SUV. The top row of 3 green LEDs blinked continuously, extremely weak, and nothing changed when I turned on the parking lights, braked, or turned on the turn signals or hazard lights. I then decided to test the circuits with old trailer or car brake and running light bulbs and a "7-way blade to 4-way flat trailer adapter" that I had to use with U-Haul trailers - see photos. This simple setup worked great and…
