Channel meter not working

Had a similar tool and bought another for the travel kit. The zester was sharp and worked well. The peel channel knife does not cut at all compared to our other purchase. What we thought was great for testing and creating fancy drink decorations turned out to be UNCONVENIENT. :(

Pros
  • positive only
Cons
  • nervous

Zester can also be used for other purposes

I saw an advertisement for a product that looked very similar to using solid oil. I thought it would be just as good for about a quarter of the price. I am happy to say that it works! If you want the zest of a lemon, lime, or orange, this works great. If you want to spread hard butter, try this. You will be satisfied!

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Like cheap junk. (Made in China)

Looks like I got a bad one. No quality control on the day the lead is made. The cutting edge is sharpened on the leading edge, not where it should be sharp so it doesn't cut through the straps. Play it safe and buy something better at your local store. They want your business more. Buy local! I bought it as a gift and missed the return window.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Does not pierce citrus peel

As per other reviews - DO NOT BUY. The piece meant to cut into the shell only slides across it because it is NOT sharp. The tip is just as thick as the corners, but slightly curved as if stamped from stainless steel. I used a fresh lemon, a 2 week old lemon and a few 2 week old oranges. Nevertheless it pulls. I was able to start it a few times because I dug the starter hole with the rim of a small bowl. looking for another

Pros
  • Quality assembly
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Half Good Tool - Kitchen Utensils & Gadgets

The chopper/grater works pretty well, not very smooth but most of the time you don't look for much oomph and it was a $6 tool. The channel meter is the main reason for the lower rating. It's very flat, cuts tight turns and is even snappier than you need flatness for a citrus twist, making the channel knife almost useless as part of the tool. Worth the money, yes. But if you're most interested in a channel meter, look for a dedicated channel meter.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Too boring! - Graters, peelers and slicers

I bought these to better enjoy citrus fruits but based on my personal experience I would prefer to use a cheese grater. I guess it's possible I used it wrong, but it only really worked when the fruit was very hard. I ended up destroying most of the fruit because I had to press so hard to get this thing to work and the side was so boring it was practically useless. I ended up buying a cheap micro plane that worked like a charm. I personally wouldn't recommend it - but like I said, it's always…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
