Nothing guaranteed

Unfortunately, my two cats were concerned about collars. So much so that I had to take them off. Unfortunately I cannot return them as they have been opened. My cats used to wear flea collars but not Hartz.

Will report to Better Business Bureau

These collars are several years old and pesticides have burned into the edges of the collar. This is dangerous for the animal. Also, the collars are turned inside out, making them difficult to put on a cat. I'm going to report you to the Better Business Bureau and ask Revain why you're allowed to sell expired animal products that are dangerous to pets.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND EFFICIENT for cats

We've always used Hartz or Sargent flea and tick collars. They are easy. . Put it on when the snow melts. Take it off when it snows. We've never had an issue with this product, but the drops that are currently advertised for use have been horrible for us and our furry friends. I would recommend this product for its ease of use and comfort. My animals have never had any side effects from this product.

Pros
  • Consistent test results

They're a great long-term solution

They seem to work well and my cats don't mind them, but I've found a few fleas here and there after opening a new one. For a year or so of use through three purchases I would say they are 70-80% effective or so. They are a great long-term solution compared to the alternatives, but I wouldn't use them for several years as there are better alternatives for immediate treatment.

Not too worn out, good for flea collars

Good. In my experience, none of the flea collars deserve a 5, but it's a strong 4. It doesn't solve the whole problem, but it greatly reduces it, and I can live with that. My cats don't get upset at all, other than that they HATE collars in general. To be honest fleas are fat like the thieves that live around me so I'm glad they do anything at all as too many collars I've bought for my dogs have had no effect or made them sick . It's a relief to have them and not have to watch my poor kittiesโ€ฆ

You can't expect this to be the ONLY flea product.

Look, you only have to use a few products these days. This collar could never prevent all fleas! My indoor/outdoor cat had terrible flea allergy dermatitis so we came down to him with some products to try and do the best we could. Surprisingly I think this collar really helps because when we added it we noticed fewer fleas after a month. He has been with him for 3 months. We use other flea meds (monthly) as well as the occasional oral 24 hour flea med to give his little body a break when fleasโ€ฆ

Did NOT work against fleas

Just didn't kill my cat's fleas. I don't know how well this will work against mites as my cats don't get many mites. I checked regularly over the course of a month and each time I still noticed a few fleas on my cat's stomach and near his tail. It may kill some fleas and/or it may kill fleas that come in closer contact with the collar, but it does not kill ALL the fleas. I followed all the instructions and stretched the collar before putting it on my cat. I made it fit snugly around his neck to

I could abuse it, but after strapping it on.

I may have abused it, but after I put it on the cat, the train hangs on the collar and there is nowhere to put it. I could cut the flop, but that would leave less area of the flea collar with the medicine. My cat ripped it off, I found it and was able to put it back on. I want to see how it goes. I figured this thing would break after tearing it off. I just think it has an effect on pests on my outdoor cat. I'm changing my rating to 1 star because after 1 year of using this flea collar andโ€ฆ
