I have both a wide mouth bottle and this type of bottle. If you like a tangier taste, use these bottles. At first I didn't like these bottles. I have a problem with adding fruit. He kept pinching his neck. Now I puree fruit and use a funnel. Then I add kombucha. No more pinching in the neck. I'm a lot happier. :)

I've been buying bottles like this for a long time and I still have a lot of them. I've never had such a break from water kefir which was only gone through the fermentation process in just 12 hours only 1 broke but I only used 6 of these so I really hope I don't go back and put it in a star must change.

The only caveat, as some other reviewers have mentioned, is that the locking barrel is VERY difficult to close, especially the first time. Not a deal killer, but something to be aware of. Everything else is fine. came quickly Great bottles, durable and well made. The body of the bottle is slightly curved inwards, which makes them easier to hold than straight-walled bottles. The cap/cap comes separately but is easy to attach to the bottle.

One reviewer said he noticed micro-cracks on some of his bottles. I wish I had read this review before purchasing please. I didn't check my bottles for cracks. I made several batches of kombucha before one of my bottles exploded. Update 4/4/21: In the year that I have owned this product I have had four bottles explode while making kombucha. Today I threw away the leftovers and ordered an even more expensive brand that suffered from explosions.

I haven't finished my fermentation so haven't used it at the time of writing this review. So once I've actually used them I'll update my review by saying I love the look of these bottles and can't wait to bottle my wine for family gifts. The bottles are very pretty and look very durable. I plan on sterilizing with my dishwasher on sterilize mode when I'm ready to bottle, so cleanup should be easy. They arrived quickly and nicely wrapped with bubble wrap in a divider box.

The bottles came in what appeared to be decent packaging as they were all separated by cardboard and wrapped in bubble wrap. After removing the sleeves from the bubble wrap, I noticed that some bottles had very large imperfections (big bubbles, sharp edges), while all had quite a few small imperfections (small bubbles, embedded particles). 5 of the 6 boxes I bought had 2 vials each that I couldn't use because they had cracks that looked like stress kinks from improper refrigeration.
