I ordered this to replace an existing 6" cover that had recently been damaged in a hail storm. I was also looking for an improvement over my current vent cover. Seems a bit pricey considering its all plastic but looks like it will last. My only criticism of this is that the pest net has larger holes. So if you want to keep small bugs out, use a finer mesh. I had an old window screen and it was very easy to put it in place with the metal screen (spread out the vent neatly, wrap the thinner screen around the metal it comes with and put everything back together). Very glad I picked up and bought the vent cover from Home Depot. Most competing products have a one-way flow feature that blocks airflow from the outside to the inside. But what if you need internal air circulation, for example for combustion air in a fireplace? This allows both directions. I searched the internet for a long time until I found this little gem. Just perfect for what I need (a fresh air diffuser with a flat faceplate and the smallest possible footprint on a house wall).
