Although the instructions say it's not supported on Linux, it does work just fine. Mint auto-loaded the drivers with no problem.Also, the instructions say that it requires the SATA to MOLEX power adapter has to be connected, it does not unless you need to run a USB-powered device. I'm just using it to connect to an externally powered USB drive, so it was a good surprise. This was a piece of junk. How can you make a pc card that doesn't really fit? I gave them an extra star becuse they did reach out to me to solve the issue but I'd already replaced it with one from Rosewill that fit and worked and hasn't stopped working - no customer support needed.

I bought this for Oculus Quest link to PC. It didn't work at first, but keep in mind that this USB C port is not bi-directional. It matters which way you plug it in. If it doesn't detect the quest, try flipping the connector over and reconnecting. You may need to do this on both the PC port and Oculus port. Worked great once I did that.

As soon as I turned on the computer, the magic smoke was released. Looks like there is a solder bridge on that chip. That's my review!

Well its works like a normal usb type c port, but im trying to use this for Oculus quest 2 with link cable. Not enough power to use properly with oclus.

I was looking for a ASMedia 1142 PCIE card. Although it's printed on the chip ASMdeia 1142 it comes up in Windows ASMedia 1242. For most ppl this isn't a problem, I happen to WFH as a USB compatibility tester and needed that PID. That isn't only compliant. The 1242 should function great for your USB A or C needs.

Installed in Linux machine. My only complaint is that the terminals in the "molex" end of the SATA power cable were loose (contacts didn't match housing). It took a little wiggling to get it inspected. I'll probably replace the cable.Powered it up, and I had two new ports!

Using an older Haswell platform, I had no USB 3.1 or USB type C ports. I have an external SSD and when hooked up to the type C port on this card, it maxes out the transfer rates as long as the transfers come from my internal SSD. The USB type A transfers quickly, but not as fast.

Installed this, hoping to use it with my Oculus Quest, but it only supports USB 2.0 speeds.This is with Windows 10, with all updates, latest drivers and I've tried several PCI slots in my PC. no difference.Unusable for me.

This installed easily and was recognized instantly by Windows 10. Coming with a SATA power cable was a plus. Got this to speed up data transfers and provide power to my 2018 11" 512 GB and 12.9" 1TB iPad Pros. 10GB data transfer speeds and power to both iPad Pros work great while connected to both 3.1 USB C and Type A ports. Couldn't be happier.

Devices still have issues, and speed isn’t the best. I’m not sure if it is just my mother board or this card. Thanks for attention.

I bought this to put my 3rd occulus sensor rift on. It worked great right out of the box. All my errors were gone and tracking has been great. Great product
