Is there a replacement tool box for tool boxes that need a little weight on top, have been installed for over 2 years and are working fantastic so far

This is a gas spring, not a damper or shock absorber. I bought this for the front door of my van and it works but you have to hold the door tightly so it doesn't open too quickly and damage the door. When I ordered I didn't know there were different ones. So I'm not demoted for not knowing. So if you want a spring that dampens instead of opening quickly, read the description. 3 stars.
