Dear sheep, thanks for the wool!

I've tried many quilt bases and settled on this one. The cost is amazing and much cheaper than other options. The size is perfect for my quilt blocks, and it's even better to have t-shirt quilt blocks on my workbench that are too big for my ironing board or other ironing block. No smell, high quality, exactly as described and now my best friend. Also, my quilt blocks don't stretch when ironed.

Effortless Super Flat Seams

I've always had trouble getting flat seams for my quilts. A few months ago I bought a Schneider cracker which helped but took a lot longer. I heard everyone talking about wool press mats so I decided to give it a try. I chose this one because of the size and price. WOW! I've never had seams this flat before and it was no more hassle than normal seam ironing. Even when I had to change the direction of some previously ironed seams, they still came out very flat. Leaves sticky marks on the iron.

I don't think they are 100% wool, I think they can be mixed with synthetic fibers or some kind of glue. I am an experienced seamstress and quilter and have been using wool pads for a long time and have never had this problem. I followed the instructions on this new pad which said "Make sure you are using a clean iron". What I did. As soon as I put the iron on the pad, the surface puckered up a bit, leaving a very sticky residue on my iron. My iron was clean! But since it was an old iron, I…
