I've had this exact brand and style for a few (15 or so) years. This is the ONLY type of straightener that works on my hair. I panicked when my dryer broke and stopped working the other day. I have fine hair with a slight wave and have tried countless blow dryers, brushes etc to help guide my hair rather than curl it. This is the first time I've found something that gets the job done without pulling or tugging at my hair. I'm considering buying another one as a backup as I haven't found anything comparable on the market. I love the fact that it allows for so much control and dries well without adding frizz. I have 4c natural hair with very tight curls. It helps me blow it out before I sit up. It has helped me get smooth, shiny, and bouncy hair with minimal cost and effort. I had one like this in 2007, got rid of it and have regretted it ever since. I just wish it was easier to clean and a little cheaper.

I've searched the world for this item. I originally bought this a couple of years ago (2008) and had to dispose of it when a few hairs got stuck in the vent at the bottom. The smell of burnt hair reverberated every time I tried to use it, so it ended up in the trash. The modified version gives you the opportunity to open this area and remove any stuck hair. I have wavy to curly hair, cut a short bob and like to style my hair straight a few times a week, but I can't dry my hair with a round brush at all. It's impossible for me. I usually blow dry with my fingers and then use a flat iron to style. It's really too much heat and it can frizz. I also have trouble doing the back and styling my hair properly. I LOVE this hair dryer. I am African American with natural hair. This is the only product I use to blow dry my hair. I used to straighten my hair with a flat iron and also blow dry it to make it more manageable, but now all I have to do is blow dry my hair.

I love this item. It's easy to use and I love how it straightens my hair in one pass (after air drying my hair first) and leaves my hair soft and shiny. It can be blow dried and straightened but if you don't want to heat your hair too much I would suggest letting it air dry first and then using this product.

This tool doesn't grip my hair well enough to create the tension needed to blow dry it perfectly, but when I use my hand it's like squeezing my hair against a brush, it works very well. I end up straightening most of my waves and only need to iron over a few sections to finish. Overall I'm very happy with it. It is MUCH easier to use than a brush and traditional hair dryer. I really want the highs to be a little less pitched or the lows a little more punchy, but switching between the two allows
