Fantastic subwoofer for cars and automotive electronics

This subwoofer sounds fantastic, not to mention that it can be switched from 2 ohms to 4 ohms. I only use one of these for my subwoofer, but I don't like that subwoofer with the rattling window of a teenage car. If you choose the right box, all you need is a subwoofer to expand your stereo system. I use all Infinity mouthguards in my amp car and couldn't be happier. I definitely give this place 5 stars

Pros
  • Subwoofer
Cons
  • Only available in black

This is a great sounding subwoofer

I connected it into 4 ohms because I only have one dedicated amplifier for this 8" subwoofer and my amp (Power Acoustik 3500) is quite powerful for this mono configuration. I have it in a sealed box. This Infinity Kappa sounds absolutely amazing and I have owned a variety of subwoofers for decades. I've only set the basic remote to less than half, the gain to about a third, and I won't crank the volume past half until it breaks in a couple of weeks. However, the base is so crisp and powerful…

Pros
  • Component subwoofer
Cons
  • Modernity

Excellent subwoofer, be careful when ordering used

Used to replace rear subwoofer in 2016 Camry with JBL system. I made my own plywood adapter to fit this 8" subwoofer into a 6x9 hole so it is installed in an infinite baffle configuration with the trunk acting as the subwoofer. So far I've left it at the 4 ohm position, which better matches the 6 ohm impedance of the original subwoofer. He's blowing his pants out of the crappy original ultra light paper cone subwoofer he replaced, nice clean tight bass. Now I really feel the strings and details

Affordable hi-fi subwoofer

I built two of these subwoofers and three boxes: Two 1.0cc punch boxes. Feet with 3" Flare "Aero" precision vents, rotated 45 Hz, with 1/2" MDF walls and corner braces. The third, for laughs and shit, was a sealed 0.5 cu ft 1 inch MDF box with heavy spacers just to hear how it would sound. I wish I had a second sealed box, but after Building Three I got lazy, so I digress. These recommendations are from the manual, but I modeled them in Bass-Box Pro because I thought I could do better. And so…

Pros
  • Subwoofer
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
