The coil fits my Mustang Survival PFD perfectly. Significantly cheaper than a complete retrofit kit if you don't need a CO2 tank.

These coils are due for replacement in December 2025. That's more than 4 years. This is a sufficient period provided the lifejacket is properly stored out of season.

They have a limited lifespan so it was annoying to get a package that was dated a few years ago, especially since the seller was happy to sell it at full price, dust and all. Buyer Warning.

This is a good replacement for regular maintenance of your inflatable PDF. I'm guessing you need to replace them every 2-3 years and they've had a long shelf life. The perfect replacement.

Not knowing they had a best before date mine was not changed as the vest was new. He didn't get wet as the boat was covered and also under an awning. So my guess is that a few years of hot weather caused it to inflate itself. I think changing the spool every few years will save you the hassle of having to replace the cartridge and pen when they fail.

Ordered 2 packs, received 2 different batches, one short life and the other long life. One pack lasts for 2 years, the other for 4 years. Both are expected to last a long time as they have stated that they deliver the latest products available. Still usable, hence 2 stars for the remaining years

These spools are suitable for the personal rescue equipment shown and others. They are the "fuse" of the automatic inflation system and dissolve in the water. They have an expiration date that is verified by those who enforce water safety regulations in many areas. If the coil has expired, the PFD is considered non-compliant and your tag and wallet could be impacted. It's worth replacing these coils and checking the expiration date before hitting the water.
