I really like this model because it has a wide temperature range, high/low limit alarm and a threaded insert on the bottom. Purchased for monitoring engines, radiators, chips, controllers, etc. when testing a prototype. I also needed it to check the accuracy of thermocouples in my various projects and FDM printers. With two depth lasers, range setting also becomes much easier.

Received yesterday. When I first tried to use it, the backlight button and C/F temperature switch didn't work. But after playing around with it, the buttons suddenly worked. The temperature readings were not accurate at all compared to the thermometer in my cool box. I compared with another infrared device. The second unit died from the thermometer in my cooler and 2 freezers in my shop. I wanted something to measure higher temperatures. We are returning this device.

I haven't had the opportunity to use this pyrometer, but I have used two different pyrometers from friends. They have always been reliable, very accurate compared to thermocouples with pyrometers and other infrared pyrometers. I finally decided I had to get my own. I mainly use them for pottery, but also for raku, trench and open pottery firing. I highly recommend these pyrometers and the price is great too.

The device works well, feels comfortable in the hand. On some things I've tried between room temperature and body temperature, the temperature on my device seems to be about 3 degrees warmer. I'm slightly disappointed that the device became unavailable almost immediately after receiving my device from Amazon (looks like an updated version with a color screen is available). I am very happy with this product. I've read reviews that say there are some issues with inaccuracy, but for measuring my furnace's temperature, I agree with the inaccuracy, only in a stadium. The reading seems lower than it actually is, but if it reads 2100 degrees Fahrenheit and it's actually 2200 degrees Fahrenheit, I'm fine with that.
