COMPACT + LIGHT: Ingersoll Rand Air Die Grinder 3101G Edge Series is light but sturdy; At only 1.3 lbs, it has a ball-bearing construction and is exceptionally rugged, compact, and lightweight. 1/3 HP MOTOR: It is powered by compressed air, not electric, and comes equipped with a 1/3-horsepower motor, a 1/4-inch collet, a rear exhaust, and a self-locking throttle. Make sure you really tighten the collet as these wrenches cannot provide the torque required.

Basically this tool works well. It is not expensive. Yes, there are unknown brands of Chinese tools that are even cheaper, but since a semi-professional air grinder like this costs around $100, it's not expensive, although some reviewers seem to think so, measuring the price from cheapest to normal . However, wrenches are way too short. I know they saved pennies on the metal here, but they can't tighten the collet enough. I found that as the tool was withdrawn, the cutter slowly moved out ofโ€ฆ

Disappointed by IC for the first time.

3.5 stars. I have been in the automotive industry for over 20 years and this is the first time I have been let down by IR. I bought this as a backup while my MAC was being repaired. The fit and workmanship of the instrument are fine. The problem is that there is no speed control. This model does not have a valve that can be screwed on/off to adjust the total amount of air. Instead, it's just a plug that holds the spring and trigger ball. Trigger is the next design error. The flip security isโ€ฆ

Ingersoll makes the finest air tools.

I am currently an Ingersoll fan. EVERY air tool I have from them is superior to any competing brand. EVERY TOOL. Any bit with a shank suitable for this tool will do. I use it primarily as a surface cleaner with grinding wheels, but another popular application is with cut-off wheels. I've used other popular air tilt tools and NONE OF THEM have THAT much power. 90 psi and this little tool SHOUTS. If you have ever used an electric dremel at high speeds it is louder and higher pitched so I wouldโ€ฆ
