Exactly what I need to convert my kettle

Exactly what I need to convert my kettle. Since my electric boiler has a temperature difference of up to 6°, I thought it would be a good idea to switch to a PID controller. This Inkbird controller is perfect for what I need. The supplied 40 watt relay is more than powerful enough for my needs and should only provide a 1° temperature difference. I would definitely recommend this controller to anyone looking to build a temperature controller or to upgrade an existing electric water heater. This…

If you love building things.

I need a temperature controller that can handle more current than the pre-built controllers I already have. This kit was the perfect way to put it together. It came with a controller, a heatsink, a solid state relay and a type-k thermocouple, I added a socket, wires and plywood to mock up the solution. A quick web search found a couple of good videos on Youtube that explained the app well and gave an idea of the complete but concise guide. It worked flawlessly from the start, without any…

Well thought out combo

I love that Inkbird put this combo together for us. Using PIDs for different brewing steps isn't new, but they've made it easy to get them with just one click for a very reasonable price. The solid state relay is powerful enough for almost any need, and the PID controller is as robust as you would expect. Adding a heatsink is a great thing. It's not needed for anything like a refrigerator, but is needed to manage mashing or cooking. As for the features, I found them intuitive and easy to use…

Great addition to my fermentation chamber

As for the Inkbird ITC-106 PID temperature controller. offers a 12-month warranty. There are actually good guides out there. It's not 100% complete yet, but I already know it works from the bench tests I've run. I ordered a few more parts, like switches, a fuse, and sockets, to be built into the case along with the ITC-106 PID controller. I'm going to use it to control the fermentation chamber with the temperature sensor in my Chronical's thermowell. The relay is connected to the camera's…

Not controlled in a narrow enough range

Easy to install and adjust. To control a lead foundry kettle containing a salt bath with a temperature of 538 °C. The device has rather large temperature differences, exceeding it by 10 ° C during control and underestimating it by 15 ° C. I've used auto calibration a few times once I hit the temperature range. It's still 10°C lower and 5-7°C higher, but during sub-cooling it performs a very short impulse control that doesn't prevent the pan from over-cooling. To use it I had to wait for the pan

Finally set up in a temporary configuration. I'll put everything in a box. I bought it for brewing beer although it can be used for many other purposes. I just set it up and am absolutely blown away as I write this. I like the bright readings and the ability to change the temperature without opening the device. Pros: Works great. Easy setup. the fact that I needed a 1/2" NPT thermocouple. Mine is bad. And easy to fix. The solid state relay runs a little warm. No big deal, I added a larger…

Reliable, accurate and very practical

Failed to load media. This is one of the many Inkbird PID controllers I use for home brewing and to control various functions of my wood fired kettle. All PID controllers are reliable and accurately control temperature, easy to program and operate. I installed the controller in an Inkbird plastic junction box and used a switch socket to turn the Element off at any time. An indicator light on the controller and switch indicates when the socket is activated. The functionality of the PID…
