Works perfectly! in temperature and humidity

Works great for my application, I'm only running about 8 amps right now. I'm planning to upgrade my heating element to 3500w/14.5amp as well, so I'll see how it handles that.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Works great as advertised. solid state relay.

Works great as advertised. The Solid State Relay does not get hot at all. Unless it's running 24/7 at tremendous voltages, you're unlikely to need a heatsink at all.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Updates available

Works, instructions won't do if you don't know about PID.

It seems to work fine, a few degrees higher. I'm trying to figure out how to calibrate it but the instructions aren't very helpful. Once I figure out how to calibrate I will provide an update. I figured it out, that's called calibration, autotuning, and that's a function with a choice of PID mode.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I doubt it

Does its job flawlessly

Does everything it says on the tin and works great. It takes a bit of imagination and understanding of what they mean to program it with roughly translated instructions, but once you get the hang of it it really is the perfect little temperature controller. The fact that you get everything you need right away and that everything is ready to use is a big plus. Also, unlike many of them, you can set it to °F and not just °C, so it's much more useful here in the US. The included temperature sensor

Pros
  • Simplifies workflows and eliminates the need to go through more steps when you want to set a specific value
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Poor thermocouple quality control.

The reason for the three stars is not because of the PID, it is very good and works great. However, the thermocouple that comes with this device seems to be a problem for many. The one that came with my device worked perfectly the first day, and then it all went down the drain. The second day when I turned on the PID, the temperature readings were scattered all over the place. The wiggling of the thermocouple wires where they connected to the PID changed the temperature several hundred degrees.

Pros
  • Support for reading in Celsius or Fahrenheit units. This is more suitable for water circuit installations. If the device does not have a water circuit, the ITC-100 series is recommended.
Cons
  • unreliable

Not bad - could be better Relay

I use this product to control two 120 watt cartridge heaters. I've tried using autotuning but the results aren't very good. Instead, I continued with the manual process of setting the options. A search or two on the internet will find a lot of information about it. The reason I deducted a star is that while the relay works, it is not very well designed. The bottom plate of the relay (which should be in contact with the heatsink) is plastic as far as I can tell. It cuts too easily and the…

Pros
  • High display and control accuracy. Manual and automatic rotation available
Cons
  • Not trendy
