I loved this power head until one day I came home and saw that one of my shaft ends had been ripped off this power head, not enough protection on the front of the power head! No screen, no nothing, heaters are LGI hogs so it's only natural that they would be attracted to the LGI glued to the front of the PSU. Update after 4 years The pump has lived 4 years, no problems with the housing, the shaft or the impeller, but the magnet in the plastic base has suffered from the effects of salt water, CORROSION! After the water got into the plastic base and corroded the magnet, the plastic base buckled and eventually broke, causing the pump to wobble every time it was started.
